In preparation for the "season of giving," IPC organized a company-wide donation drive. Employees were encouraged to bring in clothing and appliance items that were in good condition, but were no longer being used so that we may provide these things to children who are in need.
This year, we selected the charity SOS Children's Village in Lockport, Illinois. SOS Children's Village is a non-profit child welfare agency that builds entire "villages" for children that have been removed from their biological families due to neglect, abuse, and/or abandonment. Unlike traditional foster care, SOS reunites children with their siblings to live together with a trained SOS foster parent until they reach adulthood and become self-reliant. Licensed Clinical Social Workers are also available to assist the children and the families.
Our efforts helped to contribute two dozen warm winter sweaters, several winter coats, several pairs of pants and gloves, scarves, and a color television and tv stand.
